Economical accommodation. You can save a bundle without giving up luxury or comfort by passing on the expensive Disney hotels and opting for a vacation condo/townhouse/house rental. You can get a spacious 3 or 4 bedroom rental with multiple bathrooms, living/dining area, kitchen and laundry facilities for the same price of renting just one cramped Disney hotel room. A lot of these rentals are geared to the vacationing family and are set up to make families as comfortable as possible. In many cases you can get rentals with a TV in every bedroom, DVD players, Xbox, Playstation or Wii games and free internet - you will not get all these added bonuses in a typical hotel room. A lot of families vacation together and split the cost of a home rental to dramatically reduce their vacation expenses even more. You also save a lot by making at least half your meals in the comfort of your own fully-equipped kitchen. You will find that the more popular vacation rentals are located in exclusive gated resort-style communities so you will feel quite safe and you will have access to the various amenities provided by that particular resort - for example, impressive large pools with hot tubs, clubhouses, tennis/basketball/volleyball courts, children play areas, movie theatres etc.

Saving money on the Attractions. If possible, buy your Disney tickets well in advance. You will get substantial savings if you buy ahead online as opposed to buying at the admission gates. You will also save yourself from having to wait in a long line -up to purchase your tickets at the gates. Consider a planning a trip during the months of September and October where the crowds are fewer, prices are lower and there are always special blanket deals to entice the vacationer.

Eating Out. As mentioned above, make your own meals at your vacation rental and save big by bringing your own bottled water and sandwiches to the parks - this also saves you the frustration of waiting in the long crowded food lines at the parks. Another tip would be to pay attention to the "Kids Eat Free" advertisements at the various restaurants/hotels that cater to the Disney Vacationing family.

Consider other non- Disney entertainment. There are lots of other options for the family to enjoy besides and expensive day at the Disney theme parks.

Head to one of the beautiful beaches in Florida - Cocoa beach is just an hour's drive east of Orlando on Florida's Space Coast- and spend the day basking in the sun or enjoy the many attractions and activities offered there.
Enjoy the beautiful natural outdoors where you can explore walking paths, forests, hiking trails, gorgeous garden paths, crystal clear springs, swamps etc. Close destinations to consider would be Lake Eola Park, Harry P. Leu Gardens, Ocala National Forests and Kelly Park.

Explore Disney Disney marketplace. The family will have great fun walking around and exploring the Disney store. Your kids will also want to visit the Lego Imagination Center where they can enjoy the free Lego building stations and nearby playground. Take a stroll along the Disney Boardwalk where you will feel that you have travelled back in time to beautiful water views and street entertainers. The Disney "Town of Celebration" has beautiful houses and yards that illustrates the magic of Disney living with snow and falling leaves generated by machines.

Old Town is a charming, cobbled-stone attraction with boardwalk style streets reminding you of the turn-of-the-century Florida days with a real American graffiti vibe. Here you'll find family thrill rides, 75 truly unique and unusual specialty shops and great dining for every taste. Old Town has the biggest car cruise in the USA that happens every Saturday nite and live bands on the main stage keep things rockin every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Spend the day at International Drive or "I-Drive" which is considers Orlando's main spot for attractions, shopping, dining and entertainment. I-Drive has 6 major theme parks: SeaWorld, SeaWorld's Aquatica Waterpark, Universal Studios, Wet 'n Wild, Discovery Cove and Islands of Adventure. I-Drive has over 400 Outlet stores, 150 restaurants, 3 huge entertainment complexes, 3 huge movie theatres and lots more. This tourist spot also has the fun and convenient I-Ride Trolley service which is a very affordable way to coast up and down International Drive in charming style.
